Bio:

Salad Chef ~Tanya D. Mangrum, started from humble beginnings. Being raised by a single working mother with seven siblings.

I had been in the medical field for over 25 years. I worked in a trauma hospital, and as a caretaker for geriatric patients in nursing homes; this is where I gained a heightened awareness for healthy eating.

In 2020 I was diagnosed with a neurological disorder. My whole world changed in that moment. I went out on medical leave which eventually led me to start working from home to provide for my family.

I was going through a horrible experience with my illness and I decided to eat healthy and get physically fit, so I poured myself into preparing salads and other healthy meals. It was not just healthy and fun to make - it was very therapeutic for me.

I love what I do and I can’t believe it, I actually get paid to prepare salads every day! My health is progressing, and I am in my happy place.

And this is how my business started from my kitchen with me and two of my children. I serve made-to-order gourmet salads, wraps, soups, and kabobs!

• This business is categorized as fast casual, and my menu is a healthy alternative to other fast food establishments.

•I will continue to develop through the 502 Black Business Week, Black-Owned Businesses in Kentucky, and The 27 Fund; which their approach is focusing on development in metropolitan urban areas.
